-Time Travel Tuesdays-
Seeing Lake Tahoe for the first time is an incredible experience—high up in the mountains, it appears massive. The lake water is an attractive clear blue color and the air smells of fresh pine. There are striking, soaring trees everywhere and large boulders compliment the lake’s edge. Really, Lake Tahoe reminds us of paradise. If you are planning a visit, you are in for a treat.
Mike and I visited Incline Village at Lake Tahoe on the Nevada side for a short trip at the end of June—we were there for just a couple of days. Despite the short stay, we had a wonderful time!
As soon as we arrived, we immediately felt relaxed and positively stimulated by the beauty surrounding us. We had not purchased our Casita travel trailer yet, so we opted to stay at the Hyatt Hotel in Incline Village. The Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe Hotel, Spa, and Casino is a luxurious hotel, directly across the street from the lake.
Although our particular hotel room did not have a view of the water, it did allow us to bring our dog (for an added fee). Our room had a separate entrance leading outside to the ground level and a walking path. It featured a small private patio and a couple of chairs. The hotel provided treats, a dog bed, and a water dish—a thoughtful gesture for dog lovers and their dogs.
The first thing we did after settling into our hotel room (and checking our dog into a nearby doggie daycare) was to check out the lake. After a simple walk across the street from our room, we found ourselves lakeside. We took in the sights, opting to enjoy a couple of tasty alcoholic beverages at the pier bar, walking along the beach, and hiking a small trail nearby.
Later, we tasted delicious local food that was also within walking distance to our hotel. We even partook in a little gambling at the casino; Mike won seventy dollars on Wheel of Fortune! It was a great trip—one that we would recommend to everyone.
